SOME SAY, LOVE IS...
Some say,
Love is supposed to be,
Like a garden.
It grows,
And blooms,
To bear fruit.
But it seems to be,
That for me,
My love is like a seed.
Waiting for,
The frozen mid-winter earth
to thaw.
Waiting for the time,
When it knows,
It will be sown.
So it can take root,
In fertile ground.
Waiting for the changing
signs of spring,
When it calls.
Waiting for when the sun
warmly shines,
And the rain gently falls.
Some say,
Love is in the heart.
This I know to be true,
'Cause it's tearin' me apart.
Some say,
Love is the answer.
And I believe 'em.
But sometimes it's feelin',
Like a cancer.
Spreading,
Threading,
It's malignancy,
All through my body.
Some say,
Love is true.
But I don't know,
If that's what I believe,
Everyone out there,
Is out there to do.
All around me.
I see shadows of love,
Hiding behind,
Barren skeletal trees,
In cold snow covered fields.
But if I look hard enough,
Across this land of ice.
I behold,
Golden rays of sun.
Ripe harvests of peace,
And contentment.
I see patches of summer,
Glowing.
And sometimes growing,
Bigger.
Hope is my seed.
I plant it deep,
In the soil of my soul.
I water it with dreams,
And I warm it with faith.
And I know,
It will sprout one day.
Even though it seems,
This land is barren and
rocky.
I will pray,
That the hardships it
endures,
Will make it strong,
Strong enough,
To face the long cold
winters.
Some say,
Love comes from the heart,
Like a poem that flows,
From the start,
To the finish,
Like a smooth running,
Clear water stream.
I agree.
Love is within me.
