This is one of my oldest surviving poems. It was originally three poems that
I tied into one epic poem.

LOST ON SPACE
One trippy night,
As I was layin',
On my bed.
Twilight was flashin',
'Round my head.
The walls were breathin',
Much too loud.
An' the ceilin',
Looked like,
One big cloud.
The mirror was,
But a pond on the wall.
An' I thought it strange,
That the water didn't fall.
Then the room started spinnin',
Much too fast.
And I was wonderin' ,
How much longer,
Could it last?
All of a sudden,
My bed was risin',
In the air.
My brain was sayin',
Hey!
This ain't fair!
An' then the light,
In my sky,
Only seemed to intensify,
The happenings,
In my room.
An' then the light,
Was the moon.
All four walls,
Just disappeared.
An' all that was left,
Was the mirror.
The mirror an' I,
Went traveling,
Through outer space.
All the while,
I was lookin',
At my face.
As we flew,
At an incredible speed.
With the mirror,
In the lead.
Into a black hole,
I did go.
Where I was goin',
I did not know.
Lost on space.
Lost without a trace.
Lost on space.
Lost in an unknown place.
Lost on space.
Lost in a fantasy.
That could've been,
The end of me.
I saw a nova,
On the other side.
I couldn't miss it,
So we did collide.
I saw it explode,
In my mind.
Which left me,
Slightly blind.
When I could see again,
I saw the mirror.
That magical thing,
That got me here.
An' no longer,
Was I floating,
Through outer space.
I was in some kind of,
Dungeon like place.
In one hand,
I held an ax.
And the next thing I knew,
I was attacked.
An' some how,
I knew,
I would be stranded here.
If I did not keep safe,
The fragile mirror.
Comin' at me,
Were three hooded figures,
On flying snakes.
Playin' a risky game,
With deadly stakes.
The first one,
To lunge at me.
Lost it's head.
It fell squirmin',
In it's blood.
'Till my ax made sure,
It was dead.
I dodged the other two,
An' ran through a door.
Just to find,
There was no floor.
I fell through the sky,
'Till I learned,
How to fly.
Into the night sky,
I flew away
Learnin' how to play,
Their game,
My way.
Lost on space.
Lost without a trace.
Lost on space.
Lost in a place.
Lost on space.
Where nightmares were real.
Where I could trust not,
What I did,
Hear,
See,
Or feel.
So I flew away,
With great speed.
Out there,
It's something you really
need.
After many days,
I took rest on a hill.
An' then the night grew,
So very still.
A beast,
Evil to the core.
Let out,
A hideous roar.
This dream was a disaster.
'Cause I knew,
Just what he was after.
As I ran,
Through the bushes an' trees.
This evil menace,
Was stalking,
Followin' me.
I used all my cunning,
An' all my wit.
But I still,
Couldn't lose it.
I ran,
Faster than a deer.
Still holdin' on tight,
To the mirror.
Finally I decided,
I must stop an' fight.
So I turned around,
Looked to my left,
An' my right.
But he was nowhere,
To be found.
Then I heard,
A terrible sound.
A growl,
Like a noise,
I wish I never heard.
A growl,
That sounded like a word.
I spun around,
An' there he stood.
So I fought him,
The best I could.
Then at last,
I stuck the ax,
In his forehead.
But he still,
Wasn't yet dead.
Then I saw him,
Look into the mirror.
An' I saw something,
Something like fear.
Next thing I knew,
He just disappeared.
I was thinkin',
This was all gettin',
Just a little too weird.
From there I walked down,
To the beach.
Where I found a witch,
Sellin' diamonds,
Fifty cents each.
I was in luck.
I had a buck.
So I bought two.
A red,
An' a blue.
I asked the old woman,
" Where could I find a city?"
She shook her head,
An' looked at me with pity.
She said,
" Search for the mountain,
With a twin peak.
An' there you with find,
What it is,
You seek."
For a day an' a half,
On a road a mile wide.
I walked,
'Till I found the mountain,
An' went to the other side.
There I understood,
Why the witch,
Had shook her head.
I had found,
The City of the Dead.
An' in the center of Hell,
Was an enormous bell.
An' somehow I knew,
If I could make it sound.
I wound be homeward bound.
But I also knew,
If I didn't reach my goal.
I would forever,
Forfeit my soul.
I must've been,
Out of my head.
'Cause I walked into,
The City of the Dead.
As I was walkin',
Down the street.
With death an' evil,
At my feet.
The air was reekin',
Of refuse.
An' the street was broken,
From abuse.
Somethin' lurkin',
Down an alley.
Someone coughin',
Much too loudly.
Blood was gushin',
Down the gutter.
Some kid cryin',
For it's mother.
The bell was just up ahead.
But know I had to,
Fight the dead.
The dead drew their swords.
An' then I had to fight the
hordes.
Mirror in one hand,
Ax in the other.
I prayed I was dreamin',
And I wondered.
I swung that ax,
With all my might.
An' it was a terrible fight.
I fought the dead,
All the way down that street.
An' when I reached the end,
They knew they'd been beat.
As I walked into the chamber,
That housed the bell.
There came a noise,
From a cell.
A man that had been locked
up,
Far all the years,
Who had no soul,
An' felt no tears.
Told me a story,
That made me worry.
He said,
" He who rings the bell,
Will open the gates off Hell.
An' the dead,
Will inhabit the Earth.
To destroy all it's worth."
"So even though,
You would go home.
You'd only find,
A living tomb.
So don't ring the bell.
Just get yourself,
Out of Hell."
I thanked the man,
An' walked out the door.
Just to find once again,
There was no floor.
As I was leavin',
The realm of the dead.
I woke up sweatin',
In my bed.
The mirror was hangin',
Where it should.
But I still wonder,
How it could,
Have broken...
