CONCRETE JUNGLE

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Livin' in,

A danger zone.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

A place,

Some call home.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

At night,

The predators roam.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Survivin',

On your own.

Feel the heat,

On the street.

See the kids,

Walkin' bad,

Lookin' mad.

Rough an' tough,

To the people they meet.

Isn't it sad?

Death an' destruction,

Is their fad.

Life out there,

Is rarely fair.

Who cares?

Lookin'  into their eyes,

Is like makin' a dare.

They can rip off your face,

with a cold stare.

Drugs, violence, an' crime.

Anything for a nickel or dime.

Jail, a vacation.

Three meals a day,

A place to sleep,

Safe there you keep,

Behind bars.

Who cares,

'Bout doin' a little time?

It's just fine.

Can't beat it,

Such a deal.

An' then back out on the street,

For some more cars to steal.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

A constant battle,

Goin' on.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

It never ends,

An' it can't be won.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Buy a gun.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Shoot a man down,

Just for fun.

Some call it,

Civilization.

Out here,

We call it,

Mega-Tropolis-Warfare.

The Fat-Cats,

An' the politicians,

With the power,

Must be blind.

They don't give a damn,

They don't live,

With the fear,

Of death.

That is always near.

They don't hear,

The Reaper,

Puttin' his sickle,

To the grind.

It's a stone-cold city.

Ghetto's an' slums of poverty,

On welfare.

Totally ignored,

Are the problems of humankind.

No one want's to,

Give a little.

No one want's to share.

Does a bank full of money,

Bring peace of mind?

Is something that exotic,

An' rare.

That easy to find?

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Livin' on a ledge.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

People all around you,

Goin' over the edge.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

Livin' in,

A zoo.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

The animals are loose,

An' comin' after you.

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

What else is one to do?

Livin' in,

A concrete jungle.

When you're livin' in,

A concrete jungle,

You become an animal too.
