BARREN
WASTES
Walking
along the barren wastes of my soul.
Ashes
and dust rise with each footfall.
Sun
bakes down on me,
Unmercifully.
Off in
the distance I see.
What
looks like water.
But
will I ever be free?
This
desert just gets hotter.
Give me
life.
Give me
hope.
Give me
love.
How far
is paradise,
From
Hell?
Who can
hear my cries?
Who can
tell?
Stumble.
Fall.
Get up
again,
Or
crawl.
Must go
on,
'Till
the weary end.
Must go
on.
Break
before I bend.
Walking
along the barren wastes of my soul.
Ashes
and dust rise with each footfall.
Must go
on.
Must go
on.
